Movies

This Page includes various other films that we have made, either individually or together.

Jesus playing Blackjack

Comedy by Adam Ogden and Richard Fysh

The Split

Andy and John finally take the initiative and make a movie together. Not bad at all, Andrew Clifton's directorial debut, nicely edited by John but he really shouldn't ever be trusted to write titles or credits. Ah well heartfelt stuff. Contains one disturbing scene. Be warned.

El BaƱo Maldito (The Cursed Toilet)

Although not my first Spanish film, this is the first film I've made where I have given direction in Spanish. There is actually no dialogue in the film and so it does't matter what language you speak. Enjoy!

Room Seventeen

An film made during my time in the 6th form. An extract from a proposed feature film.
The plot (which needs to be explained) is a woman named Holly who goes to her daughter's school's parents evening. The school is the same one that Holly attended as a child and is also where her sister Ivy was killed whilst a pupil there.

Cast:
Holly (Sarah Morley) Ghost (Craig Sherrington) Ivy (Heather Wilson) Caretaker (Richard Fysh)
Crew:
Directed by Richard Fysh, Camerawork by Natalie Wilson, Edited by Craig Sherrington

Richard's Uni Films

Films that I (Richard Fysh) have made at Preston, Lancashire as part of my course at UCLan.

EQUALITY

Year two, Semester two.
The brief for this film was "Make a film about a social issue" This is the result.

...Just Another Sunday

My second year Sound and Vision film (semester one) is a strange almost surreal fantasy starring Luke Whitehead.

Or as one fan Emailed:

"I finally got round to watching your movie.........and its shite!!!
Joking, its fuckin ace mate! I was actually laughing out loud, which is not
like me at all. The Tom Cruise bit was fantastic, especially his
'introducing' credit. And I love the way you managed to sneak dino in there!
I could go on for hours telling ya how great it was, the music (cheers for
the credits on that cos I loved the darling violetta tune, and now I can
download it!), the acting (hilarious), the shots were ace too, just like a
pro! My god your heads gonna be well swellin from this. If ya want i'll
write a review and send it to Harvey Weinstein!
Bye the way, that throwing up part was awful. What did you do, throw up in a
bag and save it for the shoot?
And was that really you singing 'my way' at the end, if it was that was ace
mate. I can hear 'stars in their eyes' a' callin you.

Anyhoo, just wanted to let you know that I do eventually get round to
watching shit so keep em coming cos if they're all like that then Kevin
Smith and Co better watch their asses!"

Alarming Halls

A documentary film I made in the first year (semester two) about firefighters in Preston.

Erase una vez en Preston (Once upon a time in Preston)

A Spanish film with myself (Richard Fysh) and Luke Whitehead. It was filmed in about an hour and features some terrible acting and terrible pronounciation of Spanish. There is a version with English subtitles. The film was made as part of our Spanish portfolio in the first year.

Waiting For Her

The first film I made in Preston; it's about a man waiting for his girlfriend at the train station. It was my first attempt at using miniDV, my first solo attempt at digital editing and my first experience of using a tripod too (as you'll see if you watch it this clearly was not the case for every shot). To be honest it was a bit rushed and it shows.

Impertinence (or drunken sword brawl thingy)

A drunken swordfight extravaganza!

A Modern Silent Classic

Miller and Sweep's first foray into silent filmaking.

Ok, so it has sound and music but there is no dialogue.

A man (Andrew clifton) stops off in his neighbours garden to relieve himself after a night of heavy boozing down at his local. His neighbour (Richard Fysh) catches him and this, being an age where men still carry swords results in an engaing swordfight. Features a catchy rock soundtrack by Kevin MacLeod.

Trivia

This film was edited, poorly on 2 VHS video recorders. Hopefully the last Miller and Sweep film to be edited this way as we now hope to be fully digital. Actually John had a go editing and added a couple of cards with speech like in old silent films, but it still isn't great. One day it will be edited properly.
